The point to watch with a swing gate is keeping the area the leaves swing into clear on the inside. On sloping entrances the ground clearance is left a little generous so the leaf does not catch as it opens; that gap can be closed off later with a threshold section under the gate if it needs to be.
As leaf width grows, the leverage on the hinges and the post grows quickly with it. On very wide openings, two leaves instead of one reduce both the load on the post and the risk of the leaf being caught by the wind.
