What Are Sports and Area Solutions?
Sports and area solutions differ from a standard perimeter order: what is sold is not individual products but a material package built around a pitch's dimensions, its intensity of use and its ground. A basketball court fence and an artificial turf pitch cage do not carry the same loads; ball impact height, wind load, lighting column positions and spectator safety demand a different solution on every project.
So there is no ready price list in this category. Basketball court, artificial turf pitch and walkway work is project-based; once we have the pitch dimensions, the heights wanted and the ground conditions, we prepare an itemised quotation with VAT included. Which Solution Suits Which Need? (Selection Guide)
The three applications differ sharply in what they demand. The table below shows which headings matter on which project.

Basketball Court work aims to keep the ball in and separate play from the traffic around it. The enclosure is usually kept medium-to-high; what matters is that the panel face does not flex under ball impact and that the post section will not vibrate. The usual choice is Panel Fence with a matching section of Steel Tube Post.
An Artificial Turf Pitch is the toughest case. Ball speed is high, the enclosure is tall, and the system must hold the ball while protecting players and spectators. Most projects use two layers: impact-resistant panel below, lighter net or cage above. Posts are far heavier than ordinary fence posts, because they carry cage load, wind load and lighting fittings. For a visual screen or windbreak, Shade Net is added around the perimeter, but net surface raises wind load, so the posts must be sized for it.
On Walkway projects the mechanical load is low; the priorities are boundary, wayfinding and appearance. A low fence runs beside the route, a Box Gabion boundary wall handles changes in level, and light guiding barriers manage busy crossings. Here colour and texture match with the landscape counts as much as the material itself; for a green, planted look, Artificial Grass Fence works well.
Technical Selection Criteria
The commonest mistake in enclosing a sports area is costing it like an ordinary garden fence. Four headings decide the outcome:
- Post section and wall thickness: the overturning moment grows fast with height, and thin profile bends in its first season.
- Foundation depth and concrete volume: on tall cage systems the foundation must be poured to a serious proportion of the post length.
- Panel wire diameter: use thicker-wire panel low down, where ball impact is concentrated.
- Frequency of fixings: under vibration the clamp count rises above a standard fence, or the connections work loose in time.
If lighting is planned, post positions and sections must suit it; adding fitting load and cable routes later usually leaves the existing posts short.
Where Is It Used?
These solutions go into municipal sports facilities, school and university campuses, shared areas in housing estates and residences, social areas inside plants, artificial turf pitch businesses, neighbourhood parks, seafront and picnic-area walking routes, and public recreation projects. On estates the sports enclosure and the site boundary fence are often planned together; a common colour and panel type then keeps the look consistent.
What Information Do We Need About Your Project?
A sound quotation needs: clear internal pitch dimensions, the enclosure height wanted (lower panel and upper cage heights separately where they differ), ground type (concrete, asphalt, soil, compacted fill), gate needs and numbers, whether lighting columns are coming, how exposed the perimeter is to wind, and the state of any existing fence.
Running metres come from the perimeter: divide it by the panel width for the panel count, then add one plus the number of corners for the post count. Gate openings are deducted. Upper cage height and net area come from height times perimeter. Within Ankara we measure on a free site survey; out of town we build the material list from a sketch, site photographs or a satellite image.
How Is the Price Determined?
There is no ready price list here, and there should not be: two pitches of equal size can need completely different material lists once height and ground differ. The quotation is shaped by perimeter length, enclosure height, panel wire diameter and coating, post section and wall thickness, foundation and anchoring, gate number and type, net or cage area, lighting columns, and total shipment distance. All quotations are VAT included and carry a validity period, because steel prices move.
Shipment and Installation
On approved projects the material leaves our Ostim warehouse. Bulky items such as panels, posts and gates travel by truck; small fixings go by parcel carrier. Delivery is charged, including within Ankara, and we run no zero-cost carriage scheme, so transport appears as a separate quotation line based on tonnage, volume and distance.
On installation, let us be clear: it is not a standard service. On sports area projects we supply the material; the build belongs to your own team or your local installer. On large projects with a total perimeter of approximately 1,000 metres and above our installation team does attend site, and labour and site costs are then added to the quotation separately.

Is there a price list for sports area enclosures?
There is no ready price list in this category; these applications are worked project by project. Even two pitches of the same size can produce completely different material lists, because the height, the ground and the exposure to wind differ. Once we have the pitch dimensions and your expectations, we prepare an itemised quotation with VAT included.
What information do I need to send for a quotation?
We need the clear internal dimensions of the pitch, the enclosure height you want, the ground type, whether gates are needed and how many, whether there will be lighting columns, and how exposed the site is to wind. The condition of any existing fence should be stated as well. Within Ankara we can take the measurements ourselves on a free site survey.
Why is an artificial turf pitch enclosure different from an ordinary fence?
On an artificial turf pitch the ball speed is high, the enclosure is tall, and the system has to hold the ball in while keeping players and spectators safe. Most projects therefore use an impact-resistant panel in the lower section and a lighter net or cage above it. The posts are noticeably heavier than standard fence posts.
Do you build the artificial turf pitch and the basketball court yourselves?
Installation is not one of our standard services; on these projects the material supply is ours, while the build is down to your own team or the local installer you work with. On large-scale work with a total perimeter of approximately 1,000 metres and above our installation team attends site. Labour and site costs are then added to the quotation separately.
How is the post section chosen?
Height is the deciding factor; because the overturning moment grows quickly as height increases, the post section and wall thickness are increased to match. Posts that will carry lighting fittings have to be calculated separately. Tall systems put up with thin profile bend in their first season.
Can shade or a windbreak be added around the pitch?
Yes, adding shade net around the perimeter gives you both a visual screen and a windbreak. The net surface increases wind load noticeably, however, so the post section and the foundation depth must be calculated on the assumption that the net will be fitted. The decision should be made at the order stage.
Which products are used on walkway projects?
On walkways the mechanical load is low; the priorities are marking the boundary, guiding people and appearance. A low fence runs along the edge of the route, a gabion boundary wall handles points with a change in level, and light guiding barriers are used at busy crossings.
